NEW CAR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What is covered under the standard bumper-to-bumper warranty vs. the powertrain warranty?

Chevrolet's Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty covers virtually everything from the front to the back of your vehicle (excluding wear items like tires and brake pads) for 3 years or 36,000 miles.

The Powertrain Limited Warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drive systems for 5 years or 60,000 miles (or 5 years/100,000 miles on some HD Diesel models).

Are routine maintenance costs (oil changes, tire rotations) included with the purchase of a new car?

Yes. Chevrolet provides one covered maintenance visit (oil/filter change, tire rotation, multi-point inspection) within the first year of ownership on new 2023 model year vehicles and newer.

Additionally, CPO vehicles receive two complimentary visits. We encourage new owners of the Chevy Trailblazer or Traverse to utilize this free service at Don Wood Chevrolet.

What new features are common in 2025 models compared to earlier years?

For Chevrolet, 2025 models often feature:

  • Enhanced versions of the Chevy Safety Assist suite
  • New Google built-in integration for infotainment
  • Expanded availability of Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, particularly in trucks like the Silverado and SUVs like the Tahoe and Traverse
What is MSRP, invoice price, and how much negotiation room is there on a new car?

MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) is the sticker price.

Invoice Price is what the dealer paid the manufacturer.

Negotiation room varies wildly by model and demand, but knowing the difference helps. Our sales team at Don Wood Chevrolet in Logan is transparent and works to get you the best available GM incentives and financing rates, aiming to deliver excellent value on your new Chevy Equinox.

What fees (dealer prep, destination, documentation) are standard when buying a new car?

Standard fees include:

  • Sales Tax
  • Title/Registration/License fees (set by the state of Ohio)
  • The non-negotiable Destination Charge (set by GM) covers shipping
  • In Ohio, the maximum non-negotiable Documentary Service Fee a dealer can charge is currently capped at $250

We provide a fully transparent breakdown of these mandatory and legal fees upfront.

How does the available Super Cruise™ hands-free driving technology work?

Chevy Super Cruise is an advanced driver assistance system that allows for hands-free driving on over 750,000 miles of mapped highways in the U.S. and Canada.

It uses:

  • Precision LiDAR map data
  • GPS
  • A driver attention system (a camera pointed at the driver) to safely steer, brake, and maintain speed

Available on the Silverado and Tahoe, the latest versions also include hands-free trailering and an automatic lane change feature, making long highway drives significantly less fatiguing.

Is the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison truly built for serious off-roading?
